Josip, Matija, Marko and Dominik, after graduating from the Crafts and Technical School in Ogulin, received the title of metal workers. At school, they heard about the possibility of training in Adridiesel and applied, and in three weeks they had mastered the basics of metal working skills. In Brodotrogir, they are enabled to work in the profession under the supervision of a mentor. The guys are very happy with their new job so we are transmitting their statements.
“I would advise anyone who wants to grow up and become independent on time to do the same as me. I was given the opportunity to find a job, and to start earning my own bread right after high school. I no longer have to ask my mom to give me a penny to go out or buy a piece of clothing, and for me it is an invaluable feeling not to be a burden to her. Working in the profession fully meets my expectations, and I will get used to life in Dalmatia for some time to come “- eighteen-year-old Dominik.
“A magnificent sight opened before me, a ship of enormous dimensions that I have never had the opportunity to see in my life, and now I am working on it. At first I was afraid to climb the ladder to such a height, but now I got used to it. We are not yet completely sure of our skills, but considering the older colleagues who follow and train us, I hope that we will quickly overcome our personal fears and indulge in work to the fullest “- said Josip.
Brodotrogir is looking for and hiring workers due to the increased scope of work
In addition to Novogradnja 326, which is being built for Brodotrogir’s own company Trogir Maritime, eight other different facilities have been registered. The total value of the orders is over $ 200 million. In addition to employing 60 workers with deficient occupations, persons who do not have the required orientation are given the opportunity to retrain within the Institution for Adult Education “Brodotrogir”. Brodotrogir is looking for ten welders each (REL or MIG / MAG or TIG), ship electricians, ship fitters, locksmiths, ship pipe fitters and grinders. The vacancies are published on the website of the Croatian Employment Service.
It is very important to point out that additional education in the Institution provides people with the opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and skills, and at the same time the value of employees in the market increases.
Adriadiesel closely cooperates with Brodotrogir and provides overhaul and service services on the main and auxiliary engines on ships that are in service at the Trogir Shipyard.
Ship Design – Wärtsilä presented a new ship design

Leading names in the coalition to promote LNG as a marine fuel
Leading maritime companies have formed a coalition called SEA / LNG to accelerate the widespread adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel. The coalition intends to remove obstacles to the global development of LNG for maritime applications and thus improve the environmental impact of shipping. The coalition consists of Wärtsilä,
Carnival Corporation, DNV-GL, ENGIE, ENN Group, GE Marine, GTT, Lloyds Register, Mitsubishi, NYK Line, Port of Rotterdam, Qatargas, Shell Downstream and Tote. Each member contributes to agreed human resources, data analysis, and knowledge sharing to support coalition initiatives and activities.
LNG provides significant environmental benefits to shipping compared to heavy fuel oil, which remains the most commonly used fuel in the sector. Compared to it, NOx emissions from LNG use have been reduced by approximately 85%, SOx emissions have been almost completely eliminated since natural gas does not contain sulfur, and particulate emissions are practically
non-existent due to the efficiency of its combustion. The main areas of focus of the coalition are the development of LNG supply in large ports, education of stakeholders on the risks and opportunities in the use of LNG fuels and the development of globally consistent provisions on cleaner marine fuels.
MAN participates in the Münchner Wirtschaft climate protection contract
MAN has signed a contract with the Münchner Wirtschaft together with 14 other companies, and all of them voluntarily plan to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) by 40,000 tons by the end of 2017. “We have reached the top of the climate!” MAN has introduced its goal to reduce carbon dioxide by 25% by 2020. To that end, MAN has developed detailed energy saving and carbon dioxide reduction measures in which the Munich power plant will play a major role in reducing gas combustion by 20 to 40%. In addition to MAN SE, other companies such as Allianz SE, Bayerische Landesbank, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, BayWa AG, Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, HypoVereinsbank UniCredit Bank AG, Knorr-Bremse AG, Linde AG, MTU Aero Engines AG, Munich RE, OSRAM Licht AG , Siemens AG, Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG, and Telekom Deutschland GmbH have signed a climate conservation agreement.
MAN supplies Madrid with new city buses in 2016
28 new MAN city buses for Barcelona’s public transport arrive in Madrid. An additional 59 vehicles will be delivered to Madrid this year. MAN’s diesel buses have been tested and come with new accessories such as fire protection, new prepared wheelchairs, free Wifi, USB ports… Hybrid buses are one of the first from MAN to be controlled in the capital as well. Already out of 21 buses, 18 are in operation. “We are delighted with the results we have achieved, in Barcelona and Madrid,” says Manuel Fraile, director of the MAN buses and trucks group. Francisco González Balmas, director of engineering at TMB in Barcelona, says these buses will make a positive contribution to the economy and technology.
Mavrik Marine – The first work boat with a new MAN engine
The latest in the 6-cylinder engine generation is the D2676 LE433 MAN, also the first to launch new production and sales. The first MAN D2676 engine will soon go to Alaska to drive and hunt for salmon. The ship will start its work in late autumn, which will have a new hull design and a powerful D2676 engine through which it will be possible to reach a speed of 30 knots. The LT32 design of the ship has been improved so that it can pass through thick waves more easily, a ship weighing 1,200 kg that is 105 kilos lighter than its ancestor. The first LT32 was made for George Dauber who worked as a fisherman for 35 years. Its reasons for choosing this boat and engine are lower fuel consumption and less engine noise. “I’m personally at a profit, mostly financially, and I have more comfort on board,” says George Dauber. Engineers at MAN’s production center have been able to achieve low fuel consumption and reduced vibration in operation. The D2676 engine has already been tested on hundreds of different vehicles in thousands of attempts and will take the place of its ancestors D2866 and D2876.
MAN diesel engines and Karpowership renew the partnership
Part of the energy group Karadeniz Holding, in Turkey, Karpowership has announced the delivery of 12 MAN 18V 51/60 diesel engines with a capacity of 18.9 MW per engine. The engines will be used for the purpose of transporters such as trucks, ships, tankers and have been changed to “floating” power plants, under their name “Powerships”. Up to 6 engines should be delivered this year. The engines will be used on a variety of ships that will most likely use natural gas or stronger fuel, Alexander Stöckler said. Karpowership says that it is the only company that operates with the entire fleet of “powerships” – the active fleet has 9 ships, and they offer a power range between 30 and 470MW. The new boats have MAN engines and will be used worldwide. Two ships that have MAN engines are currently being used in Lebanon to stabilize the amount of energy in the capital.
YouTuber printed you out
YouTuber printed and made a functional car engine using a 3D printer
3D printing technology has been with us for some time and continues to evolve. From large complex models to the simplest small models, printers are still limited in their technique, but one YouTuber decided to use his printer to print functional engines for smaller cars. One of the best printed engines are the Toyota 2RE, and the Toyota 4WD, which have achieved great beauty not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of aesthetics. The end result of the engine has reached great popularity in the world of 3D printing and the product can be compared to kinetic art. The young YouTuber has published a number of multimedia content.
